Kids Summer Reading Club

Summer Reading Club

Supercharge your summer! Join the Summer Reading Club at any library branch. Read at least 10 books over the summer, from 1 December 2017 to 31 January 2018. Sign up from 1 December to get your reading log and activity book, then start reading! Collect prizes along the way and return your completed reading logs to enter the major prize draw – you could win 1 of 5 Victoria Zoos Memberships! For ages 5-12.

Knights of the Square Table

Become a Knight of the Square Table and challenge your opponent during this all ages chess program. Come along and learn to play or improve your skills.

Junior Chess Club

Junior Chess Club

Love to play chess? Then come along to Junior Chess Club, where you can meet new friends, learn strategic thinking, and flex your chess muscles. You must already know how to play chess in order to participate in the club.

For ages 6-13.

Homework Club

Would you like help with your homework? Homework Help aims to give one-on-one assistance with curriculum based homework and studies as well as access to the libraries study assist collection. Bring your homework, stationary and textbooks. Tutors are community volunteers with experience in coaching and assisting students with curriculum based homework. All volunteers have working with children checks. Available for Primary and Secondary school students.

Please note, this program is at Plaza Library, and is for students of 7 years and older. A similar program exists at Tarneit Library for secondary school students.

Imagination Creation

Do you love to get creative with words? Join the Imagination Creation Young Writers. 

Share inspiration and creativity with other young writers in a relaxed, social environment and get writing tips from published author Margaret Campbell. The group meets at Werribee Library from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

Imagination Creation and Margaret Campbell host a young writers competition every year. The 2017 competition is closed; winners were announced at the Awards Night on 31 August. Read all the prize-winning entries from the Imagination Creation Writing Competition 2017 here in the competition anthology, ‘World of Imagination’.

Read with Me

Does your child need help with their reading or are they having trouble completing their required reading at home? One of our Reading Buddies may be the answer. 

For Primary School aged children. Children should bring their school reading with them to the session.

No bookings required - program works as a 15 minute drop in any time between 4pm - 5pm, every Monday during school terms at Plaza Library.
