Wyndham ANZAC Project

Remembering our heroes

We need your help to discover the details of the lives of over 350 soldiers from Werribee and surrounding areas who served Australia during World War I.

Fighting in the Middle East and on the Western Front during the war, around 60 of those soldiers were to pay the ultimate price - either killed in action or dying of their battle wounds.

Wyndham City Libraries wants to honour these heroes by creating a biography for each soldier that will illustrate life in war-time.

If you're a descendant of one of those who served or know the history of a former Werribee WW1 soldier, we welcome you to share your stories and treasures. Book a time to bring your photographs, letters and other artefacts to the Plaza Library to be scanned and displayed on our history website. View the list of soldiers and their biographies at Wyndham History.
