In line with key objectives identified in Wyndham’s Quality Community Plan (2007), the planning for the provision of facilities to service the Tarneit, and greater Wyndham Community are currently being undertaken. Concurrently, in 2013, Wyndham City Council adopted the Wyndham Skate, BMX and Bike Strategy in order to assess existing skate parks, and propose future facilities to ensure user demand and requirements were met. One of the key recommendations from this Strategy was to develop a Regional Facility, with Baden Powell Drive Reserve deemed the most accessible and adequately sized.
In September of 2015, Enlocus were engaged, to work together with Wyndham City to develop concept designs and contract documentation for the Baden Powell Drive Reserve.
The Vision For Baden Powell Drive
The Baden Powell Dr Reserve will be the recreational and social heart of the Tarneit community. Regional level skate/bmx/scooter terrain will be complemented by active and passive recreational spaces, while a unique shelter structure will provide for events, incorporating AV and toilet amenities.
The Construction phase of this project has just commenced. At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 7 March the construction contract was awarded to a builder. Over the next 8 months the reserve will be undergoing construction, to deliver the vision and design of the reserve we've been working on over the last year.
During this construction period Council appreciates your patience and understanding. Updates of the construction process will be provided over time.
