Wyndham City’s 3 year old kindergarten program provides the opportunity for your child to socialise with an extended group of peers, and to participate in an educational program. This program will enhance learning and overall development to meet the individual needs of each pre-school child enrolled in the centre.

Attending our 3 old pre-kinder program also has the added benefit of preparing your child for the transition into the preschool year.

In our 3 year old program your child's growing independence will be fostered, and their self-awareness and self-esteem nurtured. They will also be provided with developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for further challenge, and will be encouraged to explore relationships with others in a supportive and safe environment.

Wyndham offers a range of timetable and cost options across different services.

For further details contact Wyndham City on 9742 8122 or kinderenrolments@wyndham.vic.gov.au.

No Jab No Play

The No Jab No Play legislation came into effect on 1 January 2016. Under this new legislation, children will be required to have their immunisations up to date or have an approved exemption in order to commence kindergarten.

For further information, please visit the Health website.

You need to produce an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register or Immunisation Status Certificate from a medical practitioner prior to your child commencing Kindergarten, to show that immunisations are up to date. This is a condition of being able to commence Kindergarten. Medicare can provide an Immunisation History Statement via:

Wyndham City Council’s Immunisations Team is able to assist families obtaining the required immunisation evidence to commence Kindergarten. Wyndham's Immunisation Officers can be contacted on 9742 0736 or immunisationteam@wyndham.vic.gov.au

Immunisation schedule and catch up programs

You must produce evidence of a catch up program in cases where children are late with immunisations. Wyndham City provides a comprehensive childhood immunisation service free to all children with an eligible Medicare Card. The Immunisation Team is available to discuss your child’s immunisation program and give the required vaccines.

Children, who are late with immunisations, can have catch up programs tailored to them. Children from overseas can have their records transferred to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register. It is preferred that families who wish to discuss transferring records from overseas notify the Immunisation Team before attending as the complexities of overseas immunisation can be time consuming.
