GRID Deep West: Musician Development Opportunity

Are you ready to take your music career to the next level?

If you live, work or study in Wyndham you can be part of an exciting opportunity to work with award wining songwriters and industry heavyweights.

GRID (Grass Roots Indie Development) are offering emerging musicians an opportunity to kick start their career, with applications now open ( for their artist development program.

With support from Creative Victoria, APRA AMCOS, American Express Music Backers, Wyndham City and Box Hill Institute, GRID will be working with eight artists from the Wyndham region to help them create songs, new recordings, new industry pathways and to contribute to an already thriving music community in the deep west of Melbourne.

Applications for this free, artist development program are open to musicians living, working or studying in Wyndham and open 1 April at and close 17 May 2019.

Eight artists will receive:

  • Songwriting development with 1 of the award-winning songwriters
  • A fully produced track, recorded at Box Hill Institute’s newly opened Sing Sing East studios
  • A live video to be used as content to promote their new release
  • A single launch gig with the other artists in the program.

On board for the ride are award winning songwriters, Lior and Joel Ma, industry heavyweights Dave Morgan (Tash Sultana, Maddy Jane, Riley Pierce) and Vader Fame  and producers Anna Laverty (Courtney Barnett, Meg Mac, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, FLorence And The MAchine), Oscar Dawson (Alex Lahey, Ali Barter, Busby Marou, Holy Holy) and Russell Fawcus (Slum Sociable, The Temper Trap, Paul Kelly, Kanye West ).
