Wyndham City is proud to announce Anjali Sharma as the One Wyndham recipient for February.

Anjali is passionate about raising awareness of important social justice issues such as gender equity, promoting positive mental health and is an ardent advocate for inclusive education.

Anjali actively volunteers both through her school and in the community in a range of activities and projects. From the Lions International Club, to Interact - Rotary Australia, World Vision’s 40 Hour Famine, Percentage Waste Campaign, STEPtember and the Leukaemia Foundation.

She is particularly passionate about inclusive education and giving students access to the education and opportunities, they need for a successful future.

Mentoring Grade 5 and 6 students from rural and regional Victoria is something that Anjali enjoys as she is dedicated to supporting and engaging students to excel in science, tech and engineering to develop STEM-related skills.

Another project Anjali enjoys is the Student2Student Smith Family program, which pairs students from disadvantaged areas with a peer buddy to improve their literacy and reading.

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said: “Anjali is a marvellous example of a young person helping others in a range of ways in the community. She is visionary, inspirational and dedicated.”

“Her infectious love to help people and contribute to society is a testament of her vision to ensure everyone has equal access to education and opportunities.”

“Wyndham City thanks and appreciates the contribution Anjali makes to Wyndham and the wider community.”
