A smoother drive awaits residents living along 12 Wyndham streets as Council’s $8.9 million Road Reconstructions Program kicks into gear.
Construction has commenced on full road reconstructions at Pelham Crescent and Woodlake Place in Wyndham Vale, Gainford Court, Oldtrack Place and Stagecoach Close in Hoppers Crossing, and a section of Shaftsbury Boulevard in Point Cook.
Wyndham City Mayor and Community Safety portfolio holder, Councillor Susan McIntyre, said these roads would be completely rebuilt to improve road safety and create a smoother, more enjoyable journey for drivers.
“Work on six more road reconstructions, all in Hoppers Crossing, will commence in early 2023,” Cr McIntyre said.
“This includes rebuilds of John Flynn Court, Moreton Court, Derrimut Service Road, Boston Place, Delaware Court and Manatee Close.”
“Wyndham City is also investing $3.05 million to maintain and upgrade a series of local roads over 2022/23 as part of its Road Surface Renewal Program.”
“Given our City is growing so rapidly, it is imperative that we maintain and upgrade our roads as needed to ensure the road network is safe for all users.”
“Council regularly monitors our roads across the municipality and considers feedback from the community to help guide these two annual roads programs.”
“It’s important to note that these two programs do not include Wyndham City’s larger-scale road projects, which are funded as stand-alone projects in the Council budget.”
