Local businesses are invited to hear from one of the greatest minds in sustainability at a free luncheon next month.
Wyndham City’s Environment and Sustainability Portfolio Holder, Cr Heather Marcus, said Jon Dee was the special guest speaker at the Sustainable Business Luncheon on Thursday, 2 May 2019.
“Jon has a strong track record in the sustainability space, having co-founded Planet Ark with his good friend Pat Cash back in 1991,” Cr Marcus said.
“He then founded DoSomething in 2007, with Tina Jackson, which has since clothed half of America’s homeless youth, cleaned up 3.7 million cigarette butts, and run the largest youth-led sports equipment drive.”
“And in 2013, Jon joined Olivia Newton-John to co-found the One Tree Per Child initiative, which aims to have every child planting one tree as part of a primary school activity.”
“Jon is also the anchor host of Smart Money on the Sky News Business Channel, a weekly live show that shows businesses how innovation, sustainability an efficiency can improve the profitability of their operations.”
“This is a unique opportunity for our businesses to hear first-hand how they can go green and make their business more sustainable.”
The sustainable business luncheon will be held on Thursday 2nd May 2019 from noon until 2pm at Encore Events Centre.
