Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, is wishing all residents a safe and happy holiday season, however they choose to celebrate it.

Cr Shaw also urged residents to take care over the festive season.

“I’m really looking forward to spending some quality time with friends and family to end what has been a very busy and exciting year,” Cr Shaw said.

“We’ve achieved so much over the past 12 months, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard next year.”

“While this time of year is filled with happiness, it can also be a time of heightened risk, especially on our roads. Remember to drive safely and pull over for a power nap if you’re going on any long drives.”

“If you’re staying local, there’s plenty going on around town to keep you busy. Be sure to check out some of the great events happening by visiting http://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/

“On behalf of myself and my fellow Councillors, I’d like to wish all Wyndham residents a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.”

Cr Shaw said there would be changes to Council’s operating hours during the festive season too.

“From Tuesday 25 December to Friday 28 December, household garbage, recycling and green waste will be collected a day later than normal. This will again be the case from Tuesday 1 January to Friday 4 January 2019.”
