Wyndham City has released the final concept plans for the Point Cook Skate Park expansion – and we want to know what you think!
Located beside the existing skate park at Boardwalk Park in Point Cook, the expansion will include a new area for beginner and intermediate skaters, new walking paths, seating and garden beds.
Wyndham City Sports Development portfolio holder, Cr Peter Maynard, said the final concept plans were the result of a month-long community consultation process held earlier this year.
“The expansion, which will double the size of the existing skate park, has been specifically designed to appeal to a greater number of skaters and scooter riders,” Cr Maynard said.
“Currently, the Point Cook Skate Park is well-used by confident and experienced skaters and scooter riders.”
“This expansion will give beginner and intermediate skaters and scooter riders the chance to hone their skills and take on more challenging courses as they improve.”
The project will go out to tender in coming months, with construction to begin later this year and works expected to be complete by early 2020.
The $264,000 expansion is being funded through Wyndham City’s capital works program.
