Wyndham City encourages the community to view the bright ground murals recently completed as part of the Meet Me in Tarneit: Wayfinding Trail project.

Five beautiful ground murals that provide directional signage decorate the shared path that starts near the Cowies Hill Water Tower and finishes at Derrimut Road, Tarneit.

The murals along the two kilometre path showcase community facilities and activity centres. These highlights include Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre, Tarneit Central Shopping Centre, Penrose Community Centre and Tarneit Community Learning Centre.

The trail is further brightened by planter boxes with seating, ‘living furniture’, that give travellers a place to stop and the installation of 46 solar lights.

These projects were funded through the Suburban Revitalisation Program and endorsed by the Tarneit Revitalisation Board.

Wyndham City Mayor Councillor Susan McIntyre said: “It’s been fantastic to see these Tarneit Revitalisation projects contribute to creating a more active community.”

“The ground murals create links between schools and gathering spaces that are bright, playful and provide helpful information to find one’s way through Tarneit via active transport options like walking and cycling,” Cr McIntyre said.

“It was wonderful to see the community take part in the project, helping to paint the ground murals and the added lighting along the path to help the community safely use it in the winter evenings.

The Tarneit Revitalisation Program champions projects to create a Tarneit that is cherished by locals for its active public spaces, a vibrant civic heart and expanding business ecosystem.
