Wyndham Cultural Centre has an entertaining line up of events coming to the stage and screen in September, which includes Mem Fox’s best-selling picture book, Possum Magic and the 1980s blockbuster, Labyrinth.

Wyndham City Arts and Heritage portfolio holder Cr Tony Hooper said Possum Magic was well known in most Australian households, and those who loved the 1980s will remember David Bowie’s dazzling character in the movie Labyrinth.

“Both of these much-loved stories are bound to impress young and old at Wyndham Cultural Centre in September,” Cr Hooper said.

“The children’s storybook Mem Fox’s Possum Magic will play out on stage, with Grandma Poss whipping up some magic – turning wombats blue and kookaburras pink.”

“Children and adults will enjoy watching Grandma Poss at work as she makes dingoes smile and emus shrink.”

“As well as enjoying the enchanting entertainment, it gives children an insight into Australian animals all brought to life by the creative team, Monkey Baa.”

“As part of our Sunday Movie Club, the movie Labyrinth will make you sing along and dance – and you can with this interactive screening.”

“Bring the whole family on a trip to Goblin City to celebrate the nostalgia, music and legacy of this beloved film, while you actively participate in the show.”

Possum Magic will be showing Thursday 19th September at 10am and 1pm and Friday 20th September at 10am.

Labyrinth will be screening on Sunday 22nd September at 2pm.

Tickets are now on sale with the addition of a new concession ticket price for resident under 30, supporting even more theatre and music lovers to enjoy the program.
