Wyndham City endorsed the Draft Bensonhurst Parade Reserve Point Cook Master Plan at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 4th December, 2018.
The Draft Master Plan will now be placed on public exhibition for seven weeks until Friday 25th January, 2019.
Wyndham City’s Sports Development portfolio holder, Cr Peter Maynard, said the Draft Master Plan had been prepared to guide the potential future development of Bensonhurst Parade Reserve in Point Cook.
“The Bensonhurst Parade Reserve has the potential to be one of the most loved sporting hubs in Wyndham,” Cr Maynard said.
“The Draft Master Plan lays out a vision for it that includes four soccer fields, three cricket fields, four tennis courts with lighting, four cricket nets and a pavilion that can be used by multiple sports clubs.”
“As anyone who lives in Point Cook knows, the booming population in this area means we are constantly working to provide more sporting facilities for local families.”
“The Bensonhurst Parade Reserve is set to be a home for a range of different sports that will support diverse opportunities for people of different ages, genders, cultures and abilities.”
“It’s exciting to see this project get to this stage and I encourage everyone to check out the Draft Master Plan and have their say on it.”
