Kids in Wyndham are being invited to free lunch time art sessions to have some fun creating their very own masterpiece for The Wynnies, an exhibition to be held alongside the Wyndham Art Prize in April.
As part of Wyndham City’s free Pop Up Park program in the Werribee City Centre, the Wyndham Wynnies sessions will be held weekly with local artists Michelle Ripari, Andrew Dyer and Madhubani Dutta available to lend a hand.
Wyndham City’s Arts, Culture and Heritage portfolio holder, Cr Tony Hooper, said staff would be taking photos of each masterpiece for an outdoor exhibition during the Wyndham Art Prize in April.
“Kids get to paint a portrait of their favourite person and participate in our most popular exhibition at the Wyndham Art Gallery. Some of our talented young artists will even be recognised with a prize,” Cr Hooper said.
“This is a free activity that kids are just going to love. No need to book, just drop-in and start creating .”
Wyndham Wynnies will be held every Wednesday at the Pop Up Park in the Werribee City Centre. Sessions run from 12pm to 2pm from Wednesday 23 January to Wednesday 13 February.
