Wyndham City’s Plaza Library will be welcoming Australia’s Queen of True Crime, Robin Bowles for a very exciting author talk.

Robin Bowles will be in conversation with Claire Halliday discussing her latest book 'Death on the Derwent'.

Death on the Derwent investigates the disappearance of Bob Chappell from his yacht on Australia Day in 2009 and the subsequent conviction of his partner Sue Neill-Fraser for murder.

Wyndham City’s Learning City portfolio holder, Cr Josh Gilligan, said this was bound to be one of the most interesting author talks yet.

“Robin Bowles is well-known as one of Australia’s top true crime investigators and authors,” Cr Gilligan said.

“Ground-work for Death on the Derwent included Ms Bowles meeting with underworld figures, legal professionals and other key players in Mr Chappell’s disappearance.”

“Wyndham Library’s series of author talks just seems to get more and more interesting and the variety and calibre of authors participating is truly impressive.”

Upcoming visiting authors include:

  • Jane Austen’s descendent Caroline Jane Knight at the Plaza Library on 7th March
  • Best-selling author Fiona Lowe at the Werribee Library on 28th March
  • Australian Cricket Scandals sports writer Ken Piesse at the Julia Gillard Library Tarneit on 13th February
  • In May Wyndham Libraries are excited to have Enza Gandolfo, author of The Bridge (about the Westgate Bridge collapse) and the ever popular John Marsden.

“Our author talks are free to attend and are very popular, so bookings are required. I encourage you to get in early to avoid missing out,” Cr Gilligan said.

Robin Bowles will speak at the Plaza Library on Friday 15th March from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
