Our accredited community leadership program will support you to develop skills to empower and work with others to enhance your leadership to contribute to the “provision of opportunities for enjoyment of the arts locally…while ...supporting the development of ……. public spaces and providing opportunities for community participation in the arts.”

Wyndham City’s Arts and Culture Community Leadership program Building Blocks is currently recruiting for individuals and/or groups who want to connect with the Wyndham community through creating Arts and Culture opportunities for local community participation in the arts.

Program Details

Session times: 13 x one night per week program - Monday nights only 20 August to 10 December (inclusive)

Applications Close:  Midnight Wednesday 18 July 2018

**Building Blocks is a Council funded program providing the opportunity to receive nationally accredited units in the Certificate III in Community Services, with the opportunity to pursue the full qualification or other related courses at Victoria Polytechnic.

Important Dates

  • Closing date for applications: Midnight Wednesday 18 July
  • Email notification of the initial shortlisting of your application: Wednesday 25 July
  • Attendance at the program information and group interview: Monday 30 July, 6pm – 8.30pm
  • Email notification of the result of your attendance at the group interview and/or invite to attend Enrolment night: Tuesday 7 August
  • Program enrolment night: Monday 13 August, 6pm – 8.30pm
  • 1st session: Monday 20 August, 5.30pm – 9.30pm
  • Last session: Monday 3 December, 5.30pm – 9.30pm
  • Please note that there will be no sessions on:
    • Monday 24 September (school holidays)
    • Monday 1 October (school holidays)
    • Monday 5 November (Melbourne Cup Weekend)

Notification Process

  1. Lodge your application:
    1. By the closing date of midnight Wednesday 18 July via the online portal at www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/buildingblocks    
    2. Upon lodgement of your application you will receive an email confirmation of successful submission.
  2. Initial shortlisting:
    1. You will receive an email notification of the result of the initial shortlisting of your application by Wednesday 25 July 2018.
    2. If your application was successful in the initial shortlisting you will receive an email from Sharon Brown inviting you to the next stage of the selection process – attendance at the Program Information and Group Interview session. This email will outline the date, time and location of the Program Information and Group Interview session.
  3. Program Information and Group Interview:
    1. Attend and participate in the Program Information and Group Interview session, on Monday 30 July 2018 at 6pm – please note attendance at this session is a compulsory part of the selection process.
  4. Program Enrolment Night:
    1. You will receive an email notification of the result of your attendance at the Program Information and Group Interview by Tuesday 7 August 2018
    2. If you were successful at the Group Interview session you will receive an email from Sharon Brown inviting you to attend the program Enrolment session on Monday 13 August at 6pm. This email will outline the date, time and location and relevant documentation required for the Enrolment Night session -  please note attendance at this session is a compulsory part of the process
  5. Commence the Wyndham Arts & Culture Building Blocks Community Leadership program on Monday 20 August 2018 at 6pm
