This week has seen a number of opportunities for community to come together and celebrate and share ideas. Last weekend I officiated my first Citizenship Ceremonies and it was fantastic to meet new residents who are looking forward to building a life in Wyndham. On Monday I was pleased to host Council’s International Day of People with a Disability event – this was such an honour and I was truly inspired by the attendees I met on the day. As a Council, it’s so important that we continue to provide leadership in making our City accessible for all, this is something I am really passionate about.
On Thursday evening I attended the Community Conversations for 2019/20 Annual Plan and Budget at Eagle Stadium – hearing first-hand from residents what they believe our priorities should be was invaluable and I thank everyone who attended for their input.
On Friday I met with our Federal Member, Joanne Ryan MP and we had a great discussion about support for local groups and priorities for next year. It’s so important for all levels of Government
to work together so I appreciate Joanne making the time.
