  • Sneydes Road full diamond interchange and upgrades to intersections on Princes Hwy approaching completion. Funding ($70 million) from sale of State Government land in Point Cook secured after Wyndham City and community lobbying
  • Regional Rail Link (RRL) up and running with patronage on RRL and Werribee lines combined increased 20% relative to before RRL opened
  • Substantial upgrades to bus services linked to the opening of RRL and significant patronage increases
  • 11 minute frequency to trains during peak periods introduced in 2014 and 1 additional service per hour in the peak when RRL opened
  • Construction of intersection upgrade at Leakes and Palmers Roads almost complete after lobbying for funding and a contribution from the get Wyndham Moving campaign
  • Construction has commenced on upgrades to Palmers Road south of the freeway to secure a bus transit lane and safe pedestrian and cycle access to Williams Landing station - $6.75 million project with Wyndham City contributing $3.1 million
  • Successfully lobbied for funding for traffic signals at the corner of Old Geelong Road and Forsyth Road. This was in collaboration with local schools and the RACV red spot campaign.
  • Secured a commitment from the State Government for the removal of two level crossings in Wyndham, Cherry Street and Werribee/Cottrell Street within 8 years

Skills & Employment

  • The preparation of a precinct structure plan for the East Werribee Employment Precinct by the growth areas authority is completed. Final assessment of expressions of interest for major development – “Australian education city” underway and expected to be completed in early to mid-2016
  • Assisted The Gordon Institute and Deakin University establish a presence in Wyndham

Environment

  • Secured over $3 million in federal funding to upgrade street lighting, using LED lighting to reduce emissions by over 80%
  • Secured $1.5 million in federal funding for environmental initiatives at the aqua pulse leisure centre and Encore event Centre
  • Rollout of recycled water to Wyndham Vale by City West Water
  • Secured $500,000 Commonwealth funding from the liveable cities program to assist with master planning of 1160 Sayers Road to represent international best practice in urban design on the urban fringe
  • Land secured for 4 recreation trails along the Werribee River - Mansion to the Coast
  • Secured over $3 million Federal funding for upgrading streetlighting to be more energy efficient and secured $1.5 million for energy savings initiatives associated with the redevelopment of the Aquapulse and Encore facilities

Infrastructure

  • Secured a State Government commitment to the introduction of an interface councils community infrastructure fund and a $50 million allocation in year one
  • Secured commitments to additional schools in Point Cook, Truganina and Tarneit, consistent with priorities identified in the growth management strategy
  • Developer contributions plans for Wyndham North and Wyndham West finalised with revenues estimated at between $1.2 billion and $1.6 billion for community infrastructure in these areas
  • New offices established in Watton Street to promote central activities district
  • Adoption ofWyndham Growth Management Strategy
  • Major NBN rollout across Wyndham
  • Roll out of increased number of ADSL connections

Community Health, Well Being and Safety

  • Secured funding and support from a number of state agencies for a service needs and planning study for a future Justice Precinct
  • Secured $1.5 million in funding for the establishment of an aboriginal community hub in Wyndham Vale
  • Secured capital grants and extension of recurrent subsidies for 15 hours kindergarten for all 4 year olds
  • Increased Police and Public Safety Officer (PSO) numbers
  • Funding for Healthy Communities Initiative
  • Establishment of Headspace youth mental health service in Werribee
