Werribee Train Station

By Car

Wyndham is an easy 25 minute drive west of Melbourne along the Princes Freeway M1, over the Westgate Bridge.

From Geelong the drive will take 35 minutes along the Princes Freeway M1.

Catch the Werribee Park Shuttle Service

Departing from the Victorian Art Centre, the Werribee Park Shuttle provides transport to the Werribee Park Tourism Precinct where you can visit the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Mansion at Werribee Park, State Rose Garden, Mansion Hotel and Shadowfax Winery. The service also includes the Werribee South foreshore, RAAF Museum and Point Cook Coastal Park and Homestead.

Scenic Driving Route

One of the best ways to travel to Wyndham is via the Bay West Trail. This sign posted scenic route takes you to some of Victoria’s premier attractions from historic sites and places of natural beauty to wild animals and sensational local food and wine.

Coming from Melbourne or Geelong on the Princes Freeway, take the Point Cook Road exit and head south towards Port Phillip Bay. Your journey along the Bay West Trail will include the following attractions:

  • Point Cook Coastal Park and Homestead
  • The RAAF Museum at Point Cook
  • K Road cliffs
  • Mansion at Werribee Park and the adjacent Mansion Hotel, day spa, restaurant and Shadowfax Winery
  • Victoria State Rose Garden
  • Werribee Park Open Range Zoo

By Train

Getting to Wyndham by train is simple. From Flinders Street Station or Southern Cross Station catch the Werribee Line train. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. The Werribee Station is the final stop where you will find yourself in the heart of Werribee’s retail and shopping precinct. Connections to buses and taxis are located directly outside the station.

Metlink trains run every 20 minutes, 7 days a week to Werribee. Melbourne’s train network services the inner, middle and outer suburbs. All lines run to and from the city.

By Bus

Melbourne's buses generally act as feeders to railway stations and provide cross-suburban travel not available by train or tram.

NightRider buses provide a safe and cheap travel option for people out late on Friday and Saturday nights. Hourly services run into the early morning from the city centre to Werribee.

By Air

Seamless freeway connections from Melbourne’s Tullamarine and Avalon airports makes getting to Werribee simple.

Getting from Avalon

Avalon Airport is just a 15 minute drive along the Princes Freeway M1 to Wyndham.

Sunbus runs services between Avalon Airport and the Melbourne CBD. If pre-booked 48 hours in advance, buses will pick-up from the Werribee RSL in Synott Street.

Getting from Tullamarine

Wyndham is a 30-minute drive from Tullamarine Airport via the Western Ring Road and the Princes Freeway M1.

The Gull Airport Service provides over 150 scheduled services weekly, between Geelong, Werribee and Tullamarine Airport.
