Rates & Property

Why do I pay rates?

The money raised from rates goes towards the community as a whole which includes many services. It is not possible to allocate individual rates for specific purposes, eg. road construction and maintenance, street lighting, drainage construction, etc. To get maximum benefit from your rates, Wyndham City encourages you to access the many services and facilities that it provides. Wyndham City currently provides over 120 different services to a population of almost 147,508 people.

When are rate notices sent and when are they due?

Each year all property owners receive a notice advising them of their rate obligations for the following year. Rates are payable by instalments and can be pre-paid if desired.

2011-2012 rates notices were sent out in August 2011, if you are yet to receive your notices contact Wyndham City on 9742 0777.

Rate Installments are due:
1st Instalment     30/09/2011
2nd Instalment     30/11/2011
3rd Instalment     28/02/2012
4th Instalment     31/05/2012
