Introduction
The first couple of questions you are likely to ask will probably be:-
1. What information is available?
2. Where do I find it?
There is literally a mountain of information available out in the wide, wide world and it is best to start locally. So where else but the local library? The genealogy collection at the Heaths Rd Library, Hoppers Crossing can help you more than most local libraries. There are over 280 books as well as numerous pamphlets, seven magazines, microfiche and film included in the collection, a list of which is attached. The material in this library will lead you to other sources within Victoria, interstate as well as overseas.
Remember wherever you go allow yourself some time to wander around. Check out the stock; look for new items; read all notices - do not ignore them, they were put there to relay a message. If you are rushed, you may miss an important meeting, class or new acquisition to the collection. Is there anything worse than finding out 'after the event'?
