Consumption of liquor in public places


Under Local Law 14, a person must not (without first obtaining a permit) drink alcohol on a road, at a public place (unless a licensed premises) or in or on a stationary motor vehicle parked on a road or in a public place.

Penalty:       $200 (minimum)
                  $2,000 (maximum)

If you are holding an event in a public area and want to serve alcohol, you must apply for a permit.
