I've heard you don't get all the ashes back - what do you get?
The standard container that is provided to families after a cremation contains the full remains of the deceased.
What can be done with the cremated remains?
The Wyndham Cemeteries Trust has developed a range of areas for the interment and memorialisation of loved ones who have been cremated. Including:
Native Garden Bed
The garden consists of an array of Australian native plants and has a decorative slate edging surrounding it.
Olive Tree Memorial
The Olive Tree Memorials are located adjacent to the Mausoleum and provide an option for families to inter ashes amidst a tranquil olive grove.
Niche Wall
A more traditional option of interring cremated remains and memorialising loved ones.
Rose Gardens
The Rose Gardens are very popular with families wishing to inter loved ones at the Werribee Cemetery.
Cremated remains can also be interred in a family grave.
How big of a price difference is there between cremation and a standard ground burial?
There is a difference, however the cost varies greatly depending on the location, type of memorial and the urn or receptacle chosen.
Do all religions permit cremation?
Some religions prefer cremation; some may not allow the practice; and most permit you to choose. Should you have any questions or concerns, we suggest you speak with a member of your clergy.
