MetroAccess

Wyndham City Council is currently implementing the “MetroAccess” program.  The program is funded by Department of Human Services until June 2007, and will compliment the implementation of Council’s recently adopted Disability Strategy 2004-2007.

The objectives of the MetroAccess are:

  • To mobilise and support people with disabilities to optimise participation in the life of their local community.
  • To build and strengthen the community’s capacity to provide support to people with disabilities and their families.
  • To facilitate integrated local community planning and coordination which engages and involves people with disabilities and their families, disability service providers and community organisations.
  • To work with existing disability support providers to enhance their capacity to provide relevant and appropriate supports in the community.
  • To improve access to information about relevant services and community activities available to people with disabilities in their communities.

If you would like to hear more about the MetroAccess program, feel free to contact Stephen Bell on 9742 8138 or via email stephen.bell@wyndham.vic.gov.au.
