Roads Resurface Across Wyndham

01.02.2012

Wyndham residents will notice some changes to their roads in the coming weeks, with a number of residential road projects due for completion this month.

Novawest Contracting will complete the reconstruction of four residential streets at a cost of $1.18 million. These streets include Anderson Street, Valewood Drive, Downham Way and the Ballan Service Road.

Excel Gray Bruni will complete the reconstruction of eight residential streets at a cost of $1.75 million. These streets include Gannet Street, Kestrel Place, Minogue Crescent, Jabiru Court, Whitsunday Drive, Selbourne Avenue, Flinders Street and Paola Circuit.

Wyndham Mayor Kim McAliney said the works were part of the extensive 2011/2012 roadworks budget.

“Wyndham City is spending $33.36 million on upgrading, maintaining and constructing roads across the municipality,” Cr McAliney said.

“While many of our road projects are aimed at accommodating our rapid growth rate, such as the duplication of Sayers Road and Tarneit Road, these projects ensure that Council’s older roads are maintained safe and continue to serve the community into the future.

“There are plenty of roadworks coming up in the next month or two. Works will commence on the reconstruction and duplication of Sneydes Road and the construction of Hacketts Road to cater for the massive traffic growth in the Point Cook area.”
