Coffee, Cake and Council
Wyndham City is inviting residents to find out more about the facilities, services and projects offered by Council, with a roving Civic Centre setting up at locations across the municipality.
An upcoming community forum will be held on Thursday, March 1st from 7pm-8.30pm at:
- Iramoo Community Centre, 84 Honour Avenue, Wyndham Vale;
- The Grange Community Centre, 260-280 Hogans Road, Hoppers Crossing; and
- Arndell Park Community Centre, 29-49 Federation Boulevard, Truganina.
The Forum will feature Councillors, officers from different departments and an outline of upcoming major projects from each Ward and participants will be able to drop in any time and ask questions or have a relaxed chat.
Wyndham Mayor Cr Kim McAliney said the Forum was primarily targeted at new residents, however anyone who wanted to know more about services offered by Wyndham City was welcome to attend.
“Wyndham welcomed over 12,000 people in the past 12 months and this is a great opportunity for these new residents to find out how to register their pets, about City Presentation standards, where to go for their child’s immunisations or about the major infrastructure project happening near them,” Cr McAliney said.
“It’s also ideal for those people who may have had a change in circumstances, if you’ve just had a baby and wanted more information on maternal and child health services or are renovating and trying to get information on hard waste.”
“The Forums will be very relaxed with people welcome to drop in for a cup of coffee and informally chat with Wyndham City Officers and Councillors and get the information they need that is relevant to them.”
“We understand that people may not be available during business hour to come in or contact the Civic Centre to get the information they need. This is a great chance for people to pop into their local community centre and find out about services and facilities that are important to them.”
