Electoral Representation Review
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is encouraging the voters of Wyndham City Council to have a say in the electoral representation review of their Council.
The review will establish whether the Council’s electoral structure complies with the relevant legislative requirements in providing fair and equitable representation for voters within the City of Wyndham.
The review will consider: the appropriate number of councillors for the Council; whether it should be divided into wards; and, if it is to be divided into wards, the number of wards and councillors per ward, names of wards and positioning of ward boundaries.
Victorian Electoral Commissioner Steve Tully is urging anyone interested in the review to attend a public information session at the Community Room, Heaths Road Library, Corner of Derrimut and Heaths Roads, Hoppers Crossing on Tuesday, 22 November at 7.00 pm.
Mr Tully said, “The review will consider a range of information, including arguments and evidence put forward in public submissions. Information in submissions helps provide local knowledge and perspectives”.
Submissions are not required to be elaborate documents and should be limited to the scope of the review. A Guide for Submissions to explain the review process is available by clicking here.
