With the weather heating up, it’s time to bring out the bathers and head to the Werribee Olympic Outdoor Pool.
WOOP opens to the public on November 1st and there are several events planned for the 2009/10 summer season.
A CALD Communities Open Day is on Sunday December 13th and Dive In Movies return on Friday January 15th and Saturday February 6th. Further activities and events will be scheduled at a later date.

- Construction of new office space, kiosk, bathrooms, change rooms and first aid room;
- Beach entry to the pool;
- Water features such as fountains, mushroom sprays and bubble pad;
- Brand new 50 metre pool; and
- Improved landscaping.
Wyndham Mayor Cr Shane Bourke people returning to the pool this summer would notice a few new additions.
“During the off season, we have laid over 1,000 square metres of new turf at the northern end of the leisure pool, which is being maintained using recycled water,” Cr Bourke said.
“Several additional new shade structures will be available for use in the new areas of turf overlooking the leisure pool, which will provide a great space for patrons to relax.”
“With eight heated 50 metre lanes, disabled access, a family friendly leisure pool, shade shelters, outdoor barbeque facilities, change rooms and a kiosk, the pool makes a great afternoon out for the family on a hot summer day.”
WOOP is open from 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 10am – 6pm Saturday and 11am-6pm Sunday. If the temperature remains above 30 degrees at 5pm or below 19 degrees at midday, these hours may vary. Signage will be placed outside the entry to the facility to advise of any changes.
