24 - EVERY MINUTE COUNTS! EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED ACROSS 24 HOURS
Wyndham City’s brand new 24-hour festival ‘24’ was held at Chirnside Park in Werribee on 6-7 May 2023.
This free community event was a unique experience that transformed Chirnside Park; from dusk on Saturday, the park was buzzing with a fantastic line-up of live music on the Riverside Stage, artist; Callum Preston turned an old car into a dazzling neon artwork over the event duration and a series of DJs rotated through UKI; a giant, robotic insect on wheels for a moving dance party that flipped to a silent disco after 11pm.
Other highlights included Chromatica a giant kaleidoscope and Imaginary Botanicals, a glowing garden maze of illuminated flowers from The Indirect Object, a silent 24-hour outdoor cinema, neon tennis, The Curious Game and ethereal, glowing roving performances from Born in a Taxi, an 8-hour paper plane competition and indoors the Slow Art Collective created a giant weaving structure anyone could contribute to, that grew in size and presence.
